Starkville-多多直播 Symphony Association presents 鈥楨pic Movie Themes鈥 and 鈥楳ovie Musical Magic鈥 this weekend
STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擳he Starkville-Mississippi Symphony Association is holding two special concerts this weekend dedicated to soundtracks from beloved film and musical franchises.
The orchestra will perform 鈥淓pic Movie Themes鈥 Saturday [April 23] at 7:30 p.m. in Lee Hall鈥檚 Bettersworth Auditorium, and the association鈥檚 Community Chorus will perform 鈥淢ovie Musical Magic鈥 Sunday [April 24] at 4 p.m. at the Greensboro Center in Starkville. Both concerts are free and open to the public.
The Saturday concert will feature a variety of theme songs from classic movies and television shows such as 鈥淩aiders of the Lost Ark,鈥 鈥淒ances with Wolves,鈥 鈥淪tar Wars鈥 and 鈥淭he Fellowship of the Ring.鈥 The orchestra will be conducted by Barry E. Kopetz, professor and head of 多多直播鈥檚 Department of Music.
Sunday鈥檚 performance will be dedicated to popular musicals, with songs from 鈥淲icked鈥 and 鈥淭he Wiz,鈥 as well as selections from musicals by Rodgers and Hammerstein. The Community Chorus is directed by Peter Infanger, a Department of Music lecturer.
